Skateboarding Contest 2025

Always giving back to the local skateboard scene, Cowtown‘s Locals Only fall contest has become a tradition that gets the locals of all ages hyped to show off their rippage on a big stage in front of all the homies.

It’s that time again, so call the homies and hit D-West! This year, a suggested $5 donation to Cowtown S.K.A.T.E. secures your spot in ‘Locals Only’ 2025 presented by Converse Cons – Saturday, October 18th. The contest runs a 2 minute “Jam” format with 4 riders at a time. Divisions/event order as follows.

*Registration closes at 6pm on Friday, 10/17.

*Contest check in – Saturday 10/18, 8:30am-9:30am.

*No waitlist! If you do not check in, you will not skate – no exceptions.

*Contest starts at 10am.

*The suggested donation per entry supports Cowtown S.K.A.T.E. A 501(c)(3) Nonprofit serving Community & Skateboarding!

About the Flyer

In usual Cowtown fashion, they employ a local skateboarder/artist to design the flyer for the contest. This year Ed Cox invited the kid, Mason Locker for the honors. The kid decided to do watercolor/pen & ink as the medium from his deep arsenal of artistic skills.

After a long discussion with the old man (a surprise to me), a train line running through the keyhole at Desert West Skatepark became the concept. A couple conceptual compositions later the final design was born. Yep, proud papa moment. Thank you, much love and respect to Ed, Laura, Trent and the entire Cowtown Family!
