“Fort Point” – JFA’s Latest Music Video Released Today

The inspiration for Fort Point came from the time JFA guitarist Don Redondo and (then-Ocean Beach local) singer Brian Brannon, surfed the world-famous point break under the Golden Gare Bridge.

There were seals in the water (and probably a few sharks) and a body boarder wearing a devil costume with a pitchfork strapped to his back — and it wasn’t anywhere near Halloween — which led Brian to surmise that Death rides a boogie board.

The current ‘‘twas so strong that a girl surfer got swept out into the channel underneath the bridge right where merchant shipping was steaming by — despite doing her very best to paddle the other way.

Don and Brian ended up so far outside that they were looking at the other side of the bridge from seaward.  Both ended up catching waves all the way around the point, successfully negotiating a rock so big that it has its own name: The Rhino. .

Big thanks to Team Pierre, who has surfed and fished  Ft Point for 30 years — and graciously lent his smooth dance moves to the tune.

Big thanks as well to Pete Koff of Avenue Films for all the shooting and editing to capture the spirit of the song!
