“Skate in the Shade”: JFA Live at Yucca Tap Room 2014

The Danelle Plaza on the south-west corner of Mill and Southern in Tempe, is sacred ground to OG Arizona skateboarders. The strip mall is the location of the fabled Skate in the Shade Skatepark, a park that was never finished but hosted a bowl worth attracting some of the best skateboarders in the world at the time. Steve Shelton described it as one of the most challenging bowls he’s ridden.

The Yucca Tap Room’s close proximity to Skate in the Shade made the night of April 4, 2014 a special evening when JFA rolled through town to deliver an insane helping of SkateRock to the masses. The vibes of the guitar body shaped bowl and it’s four-finger thick coping were felt by all packed in the Yucca that evening.

JFA has an all-new full LP on the way from our friends at DC-Jam Records and we couldn’t be more excited for the new tunes. To celebrate, AZPX and JFA are super stoked to present JFA – “Skate in the Shade”: Live at the Yucca Tap Room April 4, 2014. A BootlegAL recording from archivist Dave Malvin and brought to you FREE right here as a free *.mp3 download, or just stream it right here OR, watch the whole evening!
