When several Scottsdale youths found there was no place left to skate in the Valley, they took matters into their own hands.
Another submission from Alex PlesKovitch is a gem of an article about a ‘skating track’ from March 11, 1981 by The Arizona Republic. Bob Young from the Republic Staff photographs Todd Joseph, and interviews a very young Brian Brannon!
The article is a great glimpse into the ‘dark’ period of AZ skateboarding exemplifying the struggle and strife just to skate and master your craft. I love how the Republic calls the half-pipe a ‘Skating Track‘.
